How many CDs should I send in?

 

As many as you like up to a 1000 copies (including artwork for each copy) of your CD at first.

• When we email you requesting more, please only send the number of CDs we ask for.

• If you think we are going to need more, we understand. There are exceptions ("Help! We're going to be on Letterman tomorrow!") - so if you have an extreme situation please call/email us first.

• Our goal is to have a 2-3 month supply, so you won't have to go to the post office every week. If you're selling CDs like hotcakes, our inventory guru will advise you on how many to send.

• If you send way too many, like if our guru requested 1000 CDs and you mailed us 1500, we will have to ship 500 CDs back to you (at your expense) or recycle them and that makes us so sad. We love all of our artists and want to give everyone a fair shake (and space on our shelves).

 

How should I mail my CDs to you?

 

Don't use expensive express mail unless you're backordered. Save the money. We want you to make a profit.

If you are going to send payment in the same package as CDs, be sure to put the payment between CD cases, and put a rubber band around the CDs.

Do you report sales to SoundScan?

 

No. Not at the moment but will in the future. We will report all CD sales of albums with a bar code to SoundScan on a weekly basis. In addition to physical CD sales, in the future we will also report digital album and single-song sales to SoundScan.

 

How does it work?

 

All CDs are sold for $5. Your share is 15% or $.75 per sale provided you supply your own manufacturing for physical CDs. $.75 minus manufacturing if we provide it. Digital full album CDs are sold the same as physical CDs, All single-song downloads on otherhand are sold for $.99. Your share is 15% or $.15 per sale.

 

What is a "Pro CD-R"? What is a "Homemade CD-R"?

 

A Pro CD-R is a professionally duplicated (burned) disc with clean printing and retail-ready packaging. A Homemade CD-R is one that is NOT burned by a professional manufacturer. We sell all formats to our customers. Some wholesale distributors are more selective. All distributors accept professionally replicated CDs; many accept Pro CD-Rs; a few accept homemade CD-Rs. Because this decision is up to each wholesale distributor and each individual customer, it is important to clearly and correctly identify the CD format for your album when signing up: CD, Homemade CD-R, or Pro CD-R. This helps make customers happy!

 

Are my digital download sales reported to SoundScan?
